Who We Are…
Meredith Martin
“I have lived seven decades without war, violence, or fear haunting my personal doorstep. I am disheartened by the vast numbers of earth’s people who do not have this kind of freedom, where one can take time to view the world as a complex, mysterious, and stunningly beautiful place. I am really happy to have my link on this planet’s fragile chain of life – in the place and time I live. I treasure life’s colors, shapes and textures and from the exalted to the mundane, I want to pin it down in my work, share it and hold on to the joy this brings.
For me, painting is a prayer and a thank-you note rolled into one.”

“As a child growing up on a small berry farm outside of Kennesaw, Georgia, I spent my summer mornings picking blackberries and my afternoons exploring the woods and creeks around my home. My imagination was able to run wild as I disappeared into the woods all day, every day, damming up creeks, building forts, and camping with my brothers and friends. I look back and I realize these years of imagination built my creative foundation. It would be after college, a short military career, and a career in healthcare before I found myself longing to be grounded in the creative process again.
Now, I spend a lot of time chasing light, shapes, and shadows. I leave each stroke loose and painterly with the intent to give the viewer a chance to see the layers of a composition while enjoying the scene. I look for subjects that are simple but striking, with many of them being the rural landscapes around my home in Ohio and the Mid-West. My focus on the canvas is to produce true but painterly representations of the landscape while showcasing the wonderful light only nature can provide.”

“I want to offer an enriching alternative to the dissonant energy of our ever-more-digital lifestyle. We visit a special place, get lost in a live performance, or savor a barista’s cup for the transformative joy it brings. In the same way, I strive to nourish with captivating imagery. Valuing representational oil painting with just the right level of abstraction, I hope to share compelling tales while celebrating the timeless appeal of the medium.
Active military service, a corporate engineering career, travel, and engagement with people of the Global South have all calibrated my worldview with an appreciation for our shared proximity to despair. But I also have a salient hope to share in my paintings - something we can all celebrate regardless of our differences.”

Kurt and Lorry Wendling
Wendling Glass Creations is the union of artistic vision and skilled craftsmanship from husband-and-wife team Kurt and Lorraine (Lorry) Wendling. Both have a strong background in art and have nurtured their creativity since childhood. Shortly after getting married, they began exploring the art of stained glass and have been creating stunning glasswork together for over 20 years.
Lorraine draws inspiration primarily from Renaissance architecture and has a refined sensitivity to color, while Kurt focuses on technique, combining strong design principles with innovative construction methods. Together, they create a dynamic and balanced partnership—blending geometric simplicity with intricate, organic forms. Their shared commitment to originality shines through in every piece, resulting in timeless works of art in glass.
Kurt and Lorraine love participating in art festivals, where they can connect directly with patrons who appreciate their work and offer immediate feedback on the interplay of colors, shapes, and textures.
In recent years, they’ve devoted more time to designing and building custom pieces that enrich and personalize living spaces. Clients often express how meaningful it is to be part of the creative process, forging a personal connection with the final work. For Kurt and Lorraine, bringing beautiful, enduring glass art to life—and sharing that joy with others—is what it’s all about.
